Meet Herb, 64

Herb was born in the late 1950s, making him the oldest of our boomers. His childhood was unlike the rest, as it unfolded in a time of which we have little record, except for a few manuscripts and legends passed down through popular songs. As far as we know, Herb had a typical and unremarkable childhood, just an ordinary kid. What we know is what he tells us, so it’s up to you whether to believe it or not.

In his youth, he experienced the cultural explosion of the late ’60s and early ’70s, and being the opportunist he always was, he seized the opportunity to open the first music store in Boomerville. For a long time, it was the only one, and it became a great success and a gathering place for modern youth. This is how Herb would meet Ash, Victor, and the rest of his rock band, of which he became the producer and manager. However, he turned out to be as mediocre in his job as they were in their music. Maybe that story needs to be told someday.

We all know how the story ends for music stores, video clubs, and other establishments that seemed like they would last forever these days… The same fate befell Herb’s store, which gradually declined until it became a second-hand shop for ’80s and ’90s nostalgics, where you could find all sorts of “treasures.”

Today, Herb still runs his store, which has gained new life thanks to nerds, comic enthusiasts, collectors, and merchandising lovers.

He doesn’t like nerds, young people, or anything related to the modern world, but somehow, the old Herb seems to amuse them, and the store is bustling with activity.
